The result of the National Entrance Screening Test (NEST 2023) will be declared today, July 10. Candidates will need their application number and password to access their NEST 2023 result from the official website - Nestexam.in.
Along with NEST result, NEST merit list 2023 will also be made public. In order to participate in the counseling stage and to complete the document verification process, candidates need to get their names listed in the merit list. This year, the NEST merit list will be prepared based on the performance of the candidates in the best three out of four subjects, and will be applicable to both NISER and CEBS institutes. In NEST 2022, the scores of all the four subjects are considered for preparing the NISER merit list.
“The SMAS scores of the best three subjects out of four will be considered for preparing the merit list for NEST 2023 (for both NISER and CEBS). A candidate can choose any three subjects or all the four subjects in the examination. It was different in NEST2022, where SMAS of all the four subjects were considered for preparing the NISER merit list,” reads the official notice
The exam was conducted on June 24th and the answer key was released on June 26th, 2023. NEST is conducted to select students for admission to National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar and University of Mumbai - Department of Atomic Energy. Center of Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS), Mumbai.
The DISHA program of the Department of Atomic Energy will provide an annual scholarship of Rs 60,000 to applicants accepted into NISER or CEBS programs through NEST 2023, along with a grant of Rs 20,000 for each summer internship. In the tie-breaking policy of NEST 2023, preference is given to candidates with higher marks in general section, followed by class 12th marks. If the tie still persists, then students with lower age group will be given priority in NEST 2023 merit list.
