Covid-19 has been proved as the biggest threat to humanity post the world war 2. Lives of billions of people across the globe has been affected severely. Covid-19 has affected all the business sectors and services available to humans. Education is one of the worst hit sector in 2020 & specially students of board exams(Xth and XIIth) have lost their most precious time. Not just schools but coaching centers have also been closed for physical classes which has caused lot of stress among students. Although online classes are being run by most of the schools & coaching centers but studies with physical classes is the best medium for those who are fighting competition exams.

What are the challenges when it comes to bringing students back to school?

As Govt of India said, the peak of Covid in India has passed in September this year. The major challenge now remains is to bring the students back to schools so their studies are not hampered. However, health of the students still remains the single biggest worry for not just parents but schools/coaching centers. Despite issuing multiple notifications on how to tackle Covid situation on personal level, there is a huge chunk of people who are not adhering to guidelines issued.

Parents of the students are also worried about the health of their kids due to possible negligence by the schools. Similarly, students who would come to school can also cause worries by not following the covid protocols. Students from class 9th to class 12th have better understanding of the situation than that of earlier classes but they are kids. Expecting them to follow all the Covid protocols would be hyperbolic.

The main challenges remain with the school now opening -

- Availability of vaccines
- Covid-19 protocols to be followed by the school
- Students taking care of themselves
- Testing of students/teachers if there are health problems

Addressing these issues with utmost priority is a major challenge. The availability of the vaccine is expected in the month of June 2021 which is also the closing time for this session 2020-21. We hope govt and the schools come up with something concrete on this matter and make sure education of students is not hampered completely.
