NVS TGT English Eligibility

The candidates must be familiar with the various NVS TGT Eligibility criteria, which are mentioned below before applying:

Age Limit

There is no mention of the minimum age of the candidate to be eligible for applying for the NVS TGT Examination and the maximum age is 35 years. The age relaxation is provided to different categories. The candidates can refer to the table to get to know about the upper age limit relaxation.

Educational Qualification 

The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti has prescribed the education qualification required to be eligible to appear for the NVS TGT Recruitment Examination, which is mentioned in detail below:

  • The candidates must have completed a 4 Years integrated Degree Course of Regional college of Education of NCERT or other NCTE recognised with at least 50% marks in the concerned subject as well as in the aggregate. 

Or

  • Bachelor's Honours Degree with at least 50% marks in all the concerned subjects individually and also in aggregate. Candidates should have studied requisite subjects for at least 2 years in the 3 years degree course. 

Or

  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in all the concerned subjects and also in aggregate. Candidates should have studied requisite subjects in all 3 years of degree course.

And 

  • Candidates must have passed CTET conducted by CBSE in accordance with the guidelines granted by NCTE, for the purpose.
  • Completed a B.Ed Degree (Not applicable for 4 years integrated course).
  • Competence to Teach through English and Hindi Languages.

Nationality 

The NVS TGT only recruits candidates who have Indian Citizenship. Moreover, the candidates should have a good command of the Hindi and English language.
 

Number of Attempts 

The candidates can apply for the NVS TGT Job Profile until they reach the maximum age limit of 35 years as set by the NVS Board. 


NVS TGT English Admit Card

The candidates who had applied for the NVS TGT Examination can download their admit card from the official website of NVS. The steps to download the NVS TGT admit card are provided below:

Step 1: The candidate must visit the official website of NVS.

Step 2: The candidate must look for the “Get Admit Card” tab and click on it. 

Step 3: The candidate will have to click on the NVS TGT Admit Card and a new page will appear on the screen.

Step 4: The candidate will have to fill in the required login credential to access the NVS TGT, Admit Card.

Step 5: The NVS TGT Admit Card will open on the screen and the candidate must download and take a printout of the admit card for further reference.

NVS TGT English Salary

The candidates will receive the basic NVS TGT Salary of Rs. 44,900/- per month according to the pay scale level 7. The candidate will receive a maximum salary of Rs. 1,42,400 per month after gaining the required experience in the TGT post

Domin Subject (English) Reading Comprehension :-

(Section – A) :
Ability to comprehend, analyze and interpret an unseen text Three/four unseen texts of varying lengths (150-250 words) with a variety of objective type, multiple choice questions ( including questions to test vocabulary) testing factual and global comprehension.

Writing ability :-

(Section –B) :
Testing ability to express facts views/opinions in a coherent and logical manner in a style suitable to the task set.

B.1 One short writing task such as: notice, message or a postcard.
B.2 Writing a report of an event, process, or place.
B.3 Writing an article / debate / speech based on visual / verbal input on a given concurrent topic for e.g. environment, education, child labour, gender bias, drug-abuse etc presenting own views fluently.
B.4 Writing a letter (formal/informal) on the basis of verbal / visual input. Letter types include:

(a) letter to the editor;
(b) letter of complaint;
(c) letter of request;
(d) descriptive, personal letters

Ability to apply the knowledge of syntax, language/grammatical items and to use them accurately in context. The following grammatical structures will be tested:

NVS TGT English Exam Pattern

Computer Based Test
  • The NVS TGT Papers can be attempted in either Hindi or English.
  • The mode of the NVS TGT exam is an online exam.
  • The total duration of the NVS TGT examination is 3 hours.
  • The total marks for the NVS TGT examination is 150 marks.
  • Each question carries 1 mark and a negative marking of 1/4th is applicable for each wrong answer.
  • The Language Competency Test is only qualifying in nature. Minimum qualifying marks for the same are 40%.
