About KERALA TET Exam

The official KTET notification for Kerala TET 2023 exam has been released by Kerala Government Education Board (KGEB) on 23rd March 2023. KERALA TET Eligibility

The Eligibility Criteria of KTET 2022 is divided into four categories, namely, Category I, Category II, Category III and Category IV. The minimum requirements which should be met are as follows:
 

KTET Eligibility for Category I: Lower Primary Teacher- Classes I to V
  • Secondary/ Higher is Secondary or equivalent with 45% marks with two years of Trained Teacher Certificate TTC by Board of Examination.
  • Candidates should have at least 45% marks with 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education as per NCTE Regulation 2002.
  • Candidates must have at least 50% marks with Diploma in Education.

Note: Relaxation of 5% is allotted to the students belonging to SC/ST and Disabled category and 3% relaxation to OBC and OEC students.
 

KTET Eligibility for Category II: Upper Primary Teacher Classes VI to VIII
  • BA/B.Com/BSc- 45%marks with 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education/TTC
  • Must have done BA/B.Com/BSc having 45% marks and 1 year of B.Ed.
  • Secondary/ Higher Secondary with 50%marks and 4 years of BEIEd ( Bachelor in Elementary Education)
  • Secondary/ Higher Secondary with 50%marks and 4 years of BA/B.A.Ed./BSc.Ed

Note: Relaxation of 5% is allotted to the students belonging to SC/ST and Disabled category and 3% relaxation to OBC and OEC students.
 

KTET Eligibility for Category III: High School Teacher Classes VIII to X
  • BA/B.Com/B.Sc with 45% marks and B.Ed. from a recognized university.
  • BA or equivalent with 45%marks and candidates who are passed in LTTC
  • For applying to Zoology, Chemistry, Botany, Mathematics and Physics, the candidate must have 50% marks from the regional institute categorized by NCERT.
  • For Zoology and Botany, candidates must have MSc.Ed qualification in Life Science course with no less than 50%.

Note: Relaxation of 5% is allotted to the students belonging to SC/ST and Disabled category and 3% relaxation to OBC and OEC students.
 

KTET Eligibility for Category IV

Those who have obtained qualifications for the posts of Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit, and Urdu Language Teachers (up to Upper Primary level), Specialist teachers, and Physical Education teachers as listed in Chapter XXXI of the Kerala Education Act and Rules are also eligible to apply.


KERALA TET Admit Card

KTET Admit Card will be released on the official site before the exam and based on category, the applied-for directed by the Office of Commissioner by Pariksha Bhavan. Candidates can check the status of their examination by login credentials.
 

How to Download KTET Admit Card 2022?

Here are the steps to download admit card:

Step 1 : Go to the Official site of KTET - https://ktet.kerala.gov.in/index.php
Step 2 : There will be a pop-up that will show the recent announcement related to the KTET exam.
Step 3 : Click on the announcement, the form will appear.
Step 4 : Enter registration id and passcode.
Step 5 : Make sure to check all information is correct in the form.
Step 6 : Look for details like candidate photograph, exam venue, date and time of exam, application number etc.
Step 7 : The admit card of KTET 2022 will be displayed on the screen.
Step 8 : Download it and take a print of the admit card for future purposes.
 

Note- The candidate must take along the admit card when appearing for the exam. Students who fail to produce admit cards will not be allowed to sit for the exam.

In KTET, the average monthly wage for a high school teacher ranges from Rs.4620 – 31360/- without Grade Pay.

KERALA TET Selection

Candidates are selected on the basis of the performance they did in the KTET 2022 exam.

  • Candidates who pass the KTET 2022 entrance exam will be entitled to apply for teaching jobs in both public and private schools.
  • Candidates must pass the entrance exam and then appear for a personal interview, which is the final step of the selection process, to be considered for a teaching position.
  • All of the shortlisted candidates must give a demonstration class for teaching so that the educational authorities may make an informed decision about their recruitment.

KERALA TET Exam Pattern

The Exam Pattern of KTET 2022 are as follows:

  • All the questions will be Multiple choice questions.
  • The examination will be in Offline – pen and paper mode
  • 1 mark will be assigned for every right answer.
  • The exam does not have a negative marking scheme.
  • Total 150 questions are there.
  • The time duration of the examination is two and a half hours.
  • For different categories, different papers are designed.

KERALA TET Cut off

KERALA TET How to Apply

KTET 2022 Application form is available on the official website. Here is the KTET Application process:

  • Open the website and click on the New registration link.
  • Candidates have to submit the application form to Pariksha Bhavan through Online mode.
  • Carefully fill in all the details in the form given.
  • The application fee for the same is 500/- for the General category and 250/- for SC/ST and disabled people.
  • Payment can be done either by Net banking/ Credit card/ Debit card or via offline mode through challan and forwarding to the SBI Branch nearest to the location. After that, the candidate can upload the scanned documents along with the form.
