HPSC Assistant Professor Political Science Eligibility

Age Limit

The minimum age limit to apply for the post of Assistant Professor is 21 years, and the maximum age limit is 42 years, which varies for different categories.

The relaxation provided by the commission to various categories is described below:

Educational Qualification

The candidate must fulfil certain educational qualifications to be eligible for the post of Assistant Professor, which are described below:

Candidates should have a good academic record with a minimum of 55% of the marks in the Master's Degree.
A relaxation of 5% may be provided from 55% to 50% of the marks in determining good academic record for Scheduled castes/Scheduled Tribes and Physically Handicapped category candidates.
Must have a thorough knowledge in the Hindi and Sanskrit Languages upto class 10th or 12th.
The candidates should have passed the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the University Grants Commission or similar test like SLET/SET. Candidates with a PHD degree shall be exempted from the minimum requirement of NET/SLET/SET for the appointment of Assistant Professor.

The candidates are required to submit a certificate from the authority with respect to the Ph.D degree awarded to them in accordance with the UGC regulation to fulfil the educational qualifications for the post of Assistant Professor. However, candidates registered for Ph.D degree before July 11, 2009, are exempted from the passing of the conditions of NET.
