About AP TET Exam

Department of School Education, Government of AP conducts Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET) to determine the eligibility of candidates as teachers of Classes 1 to 8 in all schools of Andhra Pradesh (Government/ ZP/ MP/ Municipal/ Recognised Private Aided & Private Unaided etc.). The APTET 2022 will be conducted by the Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh in several exam centres in various districts in Andhra Pradesh at Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai and Odissa. AP TET 2022 will be held online as a Computer Based Test (CBT). "The objective is to ensure National Standards and benchmark of Teacher quality in the recruitment process in accordance with the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE)", informs the official notification of APTET.

AP TET Eligibility

Candidates need to meet the AP TET eligibility criteria 2022 for Paper 1 (Part A & B) and Paper 2 (Part A & B) in order to appear for the exam. Have a look at the basic eligibility conditions below:

AP TET Educational Qualifications for Paper 1 Part A (Classes 1 to 5):
  • Intermediate/Senior Secondary with at least 50 per cent marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education OR 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (BelEd) OR 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) OR
  • Graduation and two-year Diploma in Elementary Education OR Bachelor of Education (BEd) OR
  • Post Graduation with a minimum of 55 per cent marks or equivalent grade and three-year integrated BEd/ MEd

AP TET Educational Qualifications for Paper 1 Part B (Classes 1 to 5) (Special Schools): RCI Qualifications Elementary:-
  • Intermediate/ Senior Secondary and two year DEd Special Education in any of the categories of disability OR one-year Diploma in Special Education (DSE) in any of the category of disability OR
  • Diploma in Community Based Rehabilitation (DCBR) with 6 months Certificate course in Education of Children with Special Needs OR
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Community Based Rehabilitation (PGDCBR) with 6 months Certificate course in Education of Children with Special Needs OR
  • Diploma in Multi Rehabilitation Worker (MRW) with 06 months Certificate course in Education of Children with Special Needs OR
  • Junior Diploma in Teaching the Deaf OR Primary level Teacher Training course in Visual Impairment OR Diploma in Vocational Rehabilitation – Mental Retardation (DVR-MR) / Diploma in Vocational Training and Employment – Mental Retardation (DVTE-MR) with 6 months
  • Certificate course in Education of Children with Special Needs OR
  • Diploma in Hearing Language and Speech (DHLS) with 06 months Certificate course in Education of Children with Special Needs 

AP TET Educational Qualifications for Paper 2 Part A (Classes 6 to 8):

Mathematics and Science Teachers/ Social Studies Teachers/ Language Teachers

  • At least 50 per cent marks either in Graduation/ Post Graduation with BEd OR
  • Graduation with at least 45 per cent marks and 1 year Bachelor of Education in accordance with the NCTE OR Graduation with at least 50 per cent marks and 1 year BEd (Special Education) OR
  • Intermediate/Senior Secondary with at least 50 per cent marks and 4 years Bachelor in Elementary Education (BEIEd) OR 4 years BA/ BScEd or BAEd/ BScEd OR
  • Post Graduation with a minimum of 55 per cent marks or equivalent grade and three years integrated BEd-MEd
 

Note: The minimum percentage of marks in graduation will not be applicable to those who had already taken admission to the Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Elementary Education prior to July 29, 2011. The relaxation of up to 5 per cent in the qualifying marks will be allowed to the SC/ ST/ BC/ PH.
 

AP TET Educational Qualifications for Language Teachers (Classes 6 to 8):

Graduation with Language concerned as one of the Optional Subjects (or) Bachelor of Oriental Language (or its equivalent) (or) Graduation in Literature (or) Post Graduation in Language concerned and Language Pandit Training Certificate/ B.Ed with Language concerned as one of the Methodologies, in respect of Language Teachers
 

AP TET Educational Qualifications For Paper 2 Part B (Special Schools) RCI Qualifications Secondary
  • Graduate with BEd (Special Education)/ BEd (General) with one year Diploma in Special Education / BEd (General) with two years Diploma in Special Education OR
  • BEd (General) with Post Graduate Professional Diploma in Special Education (PGDC) / PG Diploma in Special Education (Mental Retardation) / PG Diploma in Special Education (Multiple Disability: Physical & Neurological) / PG Diploma in Special Education (Locomotor Impairment and Cerebral Palsy) / Secondary level Teacher Training Course in Visual Impairment / Senior Diploma in Teaching the Deaf / BA B.Ed. in Visual impairment

AP TET Admit Card

For all the eligible applicants, the AP TET Admit Card will be available on the official website. To ensure a smooth download of the admission card, follow the steps outlined below.

Step1: To begin, go to the official website of the Commissioner of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh.

Step 2: Find and click on the 'Know your hall ticket details' link.

Step 3: In the login portal, you can use any one method out of the three options given. Either use your reference ID, or Mobile No. or Aadhaar number and Date of Birth to proceed, then click on Submit.

Step 4: The AP TET Admit Card will appear on the computer screen.

AP TET Exam Pattern

Before beginning their preparation, candidates should have a thorough knowledge of the overall AP TET Exam Pattern & Selection process. The selection process is divided into two stages: the written exam and the document verification round. The exam pattern for both papers is provided below:

  • The first paper of the AP TET exam, Paper-I, is held for candidates who want to be teachers in classes I to V.

AP TET How to Apply

To avoid last-minute confusion, candidates should understand the process of filling out the AP TET online Application Form. The steps for filling out the Application Form are as follows:

Step 1: Navigate to the official website of APTET and Select the Application Form.

Step 2: Select the dialogue box (e.g. Welcome To Online application)

Step 3: Confirm the next dialogue box (i.e. fields denoted with a '*' are required) and Enter your Payment Gateway Journal Number and the Date of birth and proof of payment of fees.

Step 4: Fill in the 'Attach your most recent photograph' field. Select the Browse option and include your photograph and signature.

Step 5: Check the declaration box and type in the verification code. Click the Upload button and the application form will open. Cross-check all the information on it.

Step 6: Fill out the application form in accordance with the instructions provided in the User Guide and Information Bulletin.

Step 7: When you've finished filling out all of the details, click the preview button. This will display the information you have provided. If all of the details are correct, press submit; otherwise, press edit to make corrections and resubmit the form.

Step 8: After submitting the application form online, the candidate must be assigned a reference ID number, which should be kept safely. The submission is considered complete upon receipt of a reference ID number.
 

AP TET Application Fees

The application fee for the AP TET Exam differs depending on the number of exams. Candidates must pay the fee in order to successfully submit the AP TET Application form before the deadline. They can pay the application fee online with a debit/credit card or through internet banking.
