The WB Police SI age limit for the post of Sub Inspector in West Bengal Police ranges from 20 years to 27 years. But candidates falling under reserved categories can avail the benefit of relaxation over the age limit. In order to showcase the physical fitness under the PET, the male candidates will be required to cover a distance of 800m in under 3 minutes while running and the female candidates required to cover a distance of 400 meters within 2 minutes.

West Bengal Police SI receives a good salary and receives various allowances and perks as well. They have a pay scale of INR 32,100-82,900 along with a grade pay amounting to INR 3900. The annual salary of WB Police SI is between INR 4-6 Lakh per annum. They get allowances and perks such as-

The selection procedure for the SI Police posts consists of Preliminary Examination, Final Examination, and Personality tests-
The exam consists of General Studies, Logical and Analytical Reasoning and Arithmetic subjects with full marks of 200 ( General studies is of 100 marks having 50 questions, Logical and Analytical reasoning having 25 questions of 50 marks and Arithmetic have 25 questions with 50 marks) Candidates should have to complete all the questions of each section within 90minutes. Candidates having an overall score of 120-13- marks are shortlisted for the Physical Measurement tests and Physical efficiency tests.
Candidates who have qualified in the preliminary exam will be called for the final examination which consists of three papers of conventional type questions, Paper I on General studies and arithmetic, Paper-II of English, and Paper III on Bengali/Urdu/Hindi. All the sections contain a total of 100 questions with 200 marks. Candidates should score 150 marks to become eligible for the next level exam.
Candidates are selected based on their merit of the final examination for personality tests which are conducted for 30 marks. The minimum marks required to qualify for the test will be 08. Candidates must qualify with a minimum score in the personality test to become eligible for the posts.
