About UP Police SI Exam

UPPRPB is about to start the recruitment process for the post of SI. This process will start in 2022 for a total of 9534 vacancies. This recruitment process will start for the post of Sub Inspector (Civil Police), Platoon Commander (PAC) & Fire Officer. After the application process, the written examination will get conducted by the government in 2022. UP Police SI Eligibility

UP Police has set educational qualifications, age limit, and Physical standard eligibility for the UP Police SI posts. Though the UP Police SI notification has not yet been released, we have provided the previous year’s eligibility criteria set by the exam conducting authority. It is expected that the criteria will be the same for cycle 2021, in case of any changes it will be updated on our page.

Age Limit

Age limit is one of the important criteria in UP Police SI Eligibility. Candidates must check the minimum and maximum age limit required as of 1st July 2021 for the SI post

Minimum Age: 21 Years
Maximum Age: 28 Years

Age Relaxation The relaxations in the upper age limit shall be applicable to the SC, ST, and other such category candidates as per the Govt rules.

Educational Qualifications & Nationality

The candidate should be a Graduate from any stream from UGC recognized University/Institute to be eligible for this recruitment. UP Police SI Selection Process - Stage I

Written Examination: The very first stage of the selection process of UP Police Sub-Inspector involves a written test. It is an objective paper. The paper takes place for a duration of 2 hours. Read the table below for the exact details.

UP Police SI Selection Process - Stage II

Physical Standard Test(PST) & Document Verification: The candidates who make it through the first stage have to now prove themselves to be physically fit. Their height & chest measurements are taken into consideration and they differ in the case of various categories. Also, the measurements vary in the case of male & female candidates. Note: At least 5 cm expansion of chest in case of males & weight of females should be at least min. 40 kg is prescribed by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment Board. Chest measurements not applicable in the case of females.

UP Police SI Document Verification

To be shortlisted for Stage III, you should clear the document verification stage as well. All the required documents shall be prescribed by the Uttar Pradesh Police Board in the official notification. It will include documents like mark sheets, passport size photos, photo id proof, Aahdar, PAN, etc. We shall notify you as soon as information is available. Make sure to carry all originals with you to the process. Also, any fake documents or forged signatures found at any point may lead to the disqualification of the candidate. Be careful!

UP Police SI Selection Process - Stage III

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)- The physical efficiency test involves a running race which is the same for all categories of males but differs from all categories of females. Candidates who clear all the above stages smoothly can participate in this stage. Clear this stage to finally make it to the last stage. Let the table below give you details about the race.

UP Police SI Selection Process - Stage IV

Medical Examination: This is the last stage for the selection of the post of Uttar Pradesh Police Sub-Inspector. The fulfillment of some conditions mentioned below shall make sure that the candidates are medically fit.

The minimum distant vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 in case of both eyes without correction i.e. without wearing glasses.
The full-field vision should be present in the case of each eye.
There shall be a disqualification in case of squint, color blindness, or any morbid condition of either eye or both eyes.

UP Police SI Exam Pattern

The UP Police SI exam will be an online-based objective type exam. Candidates need to clear this stage in order to qualify for the next stage of the selection process. The UP Police SI exam pattern is as follows.

Each question will carry 2.5 marks and there shall no negative marking for wrong answers.
The candidates will have to score at least 35% marks in each section and overall 50% marks.
The exam will be an online-based objective-type exam.
The exam will be of four different papers (General Hindi, Law & Constitution, General Knowledge, Numerical & Mental Ability Test, and Mental Aptitude Test/Intelligence Test/Test of Reasoning).
The exam will consist of 400 marks.

Female Candidates should at least weigh 40 kgs.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Candidates who clear the Physical Standard test will qualify for the Physical Efficiency Test. Candidates have to cover a certain distance in a specific time period, details of which are mentioned below

Male – 4.8 KMs in 28 minutes.
Female – 2.4 KMs in 16 minutes.

UP Police SI Cut Off is released on 12th June 2022. The written examination for UP Police SI is conducted every year to test the candidate's intelligence level. The candidates who will clear the written test are next eligible for the medical examination. The UP Police SI cutoffs vary in the case of male & female candidates. UP Police SI How to Apply

After meeting the eligibility criteria set by the examination authority, candidates can apply online for the recruitment. To apply for UP Police SIi online, candidates can follow the steps mentioned below to complete the process:
