About GAT-B Exam

GAT-B 2023 - The National Testing Agency will soon release the GAT-B 2023 final answer key in online mode. NTA opened the GAT-B answer key 2023 challenge window at the official website - dbt.nta.ac.in on May 19 and closed it on May 20. The GAT-B admit card was issued on May 11. Earlier, the GAT-B city allotment 2023 was out on May 8. The exam duration of GAT-B was three hours which was conducted on May 13.

GAT-B Eligibility

Candidates who need to appear in GAT-B test 2023 must fulfil all the eligibility criteria as per Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB). If any candidate fails to fulfil the eligibility criteria, then his/her candidature is liable to be cancelled at any stage of the exam or he/she cannot appear in the further admission process. Given below are some basic highlights of GAT-B 2023 eligibility criteria that every candidate must go through.

Course  Eligibility Criteria
M.V.Sc. Animal Biotechnology Candidates must have B.V.Sc. & A.H. or equivalent degree from any recognized university with at least a CGPA of 2.60 on a 4.00 scale or 6.60 on a 10.00 scale or must have secured at least 60% marks in the traditional system. Reserved category candidates (SC/ST) must have secured at least 2.20 on a 4.00 scale, 5.60 on a 10.00 scale, and 50% marks.
M.Tech Biotechnology Candidates must have passed B.Tech/BE degree in the relevant stream with the minimum marks set by the participating university.
M.Sc. Allied Areas/Agricultural Biotechnology Applicants with BSc. in the respective stream with the minimum marks as per the participating university.

GAT-B Admit Card

  • Visit the official website of the competent authority, i.e. rcb.res.in.
  • Click on the admit card link appearing on the home page.
  • Enter login credentials, such as application number and DOB and then click on the submit button
  • Your admit card will appear on your screen
  • Check whether all the details mentioned on your admit card are correct.

GAT-B Syllabus

GAT-B Syllabus of Section A: 10+2 level Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology. There are 60 questions in section A. All questions are compulsory. Each correct answer is for 1 mark and 0.5 marks are deducted for every wrong answer.

GAT-B Syllabus of Section B: Graduation level Basic Biology, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, and allied areas. There are 100 questions in section B. Students need to answer any 60 questions. Each correct answer is for 3 marks and 1 mark is deducted for every wrong answer.

GAT-B Exam Pattern

GAT-B questions are MCQ-based only. There are no MSQs or NAT-type questions. Students are awarded points for each correct answer. Marks are deducted for each wrong answer. The detailed exam patterns and marking scheme for GAT-B 2023 are as follows:

GAT-B How to Apply

For successful registration, candidates need to apply the following steps properly:

Step 1: Registration
  • Visit the official website of conducting authority, i.e. rcb.res.in, and click on the “New Registration” link.
  • You need to enter your name, email ID, date of birth, and mobile number for registration

Step 2: Fill the Application Form
  • After registration, click on the “Already Registered” button and log in using the User ID and password obtained during registration.
  • Go through all the on-screen instructions carefully and then click on the declaration button
  • Enter all the asked personal details, such as your name, gender, category, marital status, address, etc.
  • You need to enter your qualification details, such as date of passing the exams, marks secured, university name, etc.

Step 3: Upload Required Documents
  • In this step, you need to upload all the asked documents in the prescribed format and size.

Step 4: Fee Payment
  • Candidates need to pay the application mode as per their respective category. Check the application fee for all the categories from the following table:
