About BSSC Stenographer Exam

The Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) has issued a new notification for the recruitment of Stenographers and Stenographer Instructors in the Cabinet Secretariat (Official Language Department), Patna, Bihar. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online for the Bihar Stenographer Vacancy 2023 from the official website, starting from May 15, 2023. The recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 232 vacancies. The available posts are 7 for Steno (Instructor) and 225 for Stenographer.

Education Qualification : should have HSC/ 12th Class from a recognized University/ Board. Stenography HIndi Speed - 80 WPM &  Computer Typing Speed - 30 WPM.

BSSC Stenographer Exam Pattern

 Follow the BSSC Stenographer exam pattern for the Written exam and Practical Test mentioned below:
 

Written Exam
  • The paper is divided into three sections, each having 50 questions.
  • The paper is a total of 600 marks.
  • Four marks will be awarded for every correct answer. One mark is deducted for a wrong answer.
  • Time duration for the exam is 2 hours 15 minutes.

Practical Test
  • In the Practical Test, candidates have to type 80 words per minute, based on Hindi dictation and will be given 4 minutes to complete the test.
  • Candidates also have to undergo dictation typing for which 20 minutes are allotted.
  • More than 10% mistake in the dictation typing will lead to disqualification.
  • The candidates will also have to type in Hindi with a speed of 30 words per minute. Candidates will have to complete 300 words typing in 10 minutes.
  • Mistake percentage in Hindi typing must be less than 1.5% for candidates to qualify the test.

1. Visit the official website @bssc.bih.nic.in to fill the BSSC Online form 2023 from the BSSC Apply online portal.
2. Fill all the details correctly given in the BSSC application form.
3. The application fee needs to be submitted via Online mode only. The fees vary based on the category, which is decided by the Board or Council of the BSSC recruitment.
4. Go through the step by step procedure for the submission of BSSC 2023 Application form.
5. Make sure to take a print out of the BSSC application form 2023 and maintain it safely for the further recruitment procedure.
