Age Limit

Educational Qualification

Assam Police Assistant Jailor Exam Pattern

The selection of the candidates is based on their performance in the following stages -

  • Written Examination
  • Physical Standard Test and Physical Efficiency Test
  • Oral Test

The expected exam pattern for all the stages is provided below:
 

Preliminary Document Verification
  • All original documents, as well as a set of Photostat copies, will be examined before the candidate is authorized to present in the PST and PET as per the qualifying requirements.
  • Candidates who are rejected will be handed a Rejection Slip that details the reason for their rejection.
  • Any inaccurate information or falsified document submitted at any level will result in the candidate's disqualification and may subject him or her to criminal prosecution. Original documentation of an applicant may be checked at any time during the recruitment process.

Physical Efficiency Test

The Physical Efficiency Test will carry 40 marks. It will have 2 events viz.
 

For Male candidates
  • Race: Those who qualify in the Physical Standard Test will have to appear in 1600 meters race to be completed within 450 seconds. Maximum qualifying time: 450 seconds.
  • Long Jump: Minimum 335 cm for long jump (3 chances to be given and the longest valid jump rounded off to the nearest cm will be considered for awarding marks).

Female Candidates
  • Race: Those who qualify in the Physical Standard Test will have to appear in the 800 meters race to be completed within 240 seconds. Maximum qualifying time: 240 seconds.
  • Long Jump: Minimum 244 cm for long jump (3 chances to be given and the longest valid jump rounded off to the nearest cm will be considered for awarding marks).

Written Exam

A candidate who successfully clears the written test will be eligible for the physical efficiency test.

  • The written exam will be of 100 marks and entirely OMR-based.
  • There will be 100 questions, with each question worth one point.
  • For each incorrect response, 1/2 mark will be deducted.
  • The written exam will be administered in the following languages: English, Assamese, Bodo, and Bengali.
