About SSC Steno Exam

The full form of SSC Stenographer is Staff Selection Commission Stenographer. It is a national level competitive entrance exam conducted by SSC for the recruitment of candidates for General Central Service Group "C" and "D" Non-Gazetted posts in various Central Government Ministries/Departments, in different States Union Territories.

The SSC Stenographer exam is conducted in two stages namely:

  • Computer Based Test
  • Skill Test

SSC Steno Eligibility

The candidates must check the eligibility criteria before applying for SSC Stenographer Recruitment 2022. The candidates must meet the eligibility conditions set by the authorities in terms of age, educational qualifications, and nationality. The SSC Stenographer eligibility criteria have been discussed in detail below.

Age Limit:

For the candidates applying for Grade C, the age should be between 18 to 30 years.

For Grade D, the age of the candidate must be between 18 to 27 years. The date of birth will be considered as per the High-school or equivalent documents.

The candidates from reserved categories are offered age relaxation in the upper age limit as tabulated below:

  • A Tibetan refugee who sought asylum in India before January 1, 1962.
  • A person with Indian origin who has transferred from one of the following countries: Myanmar, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, etc.

SSC Steno Admit Card

The SSC Stenographer Admit Card will be made available online on the official website of SSC. The admit card for both CBT and Skill Test will be released separately. The link to download the admit card will be available after the link is activated about a few weeks before the examination.

How to Download SSC Stenographer 2022 Admit Card?

Candidates can download the SSC Steno admit card within the specified time frame following the simple steps given below:

SSC Steno Exam Pattern

SSC conducts a Computer-Based test and a Skill Test as part of the selection procedure. Candidates who are interested in any of the positions must pass the computer-based test as well as the skill test.

  • SSC Stenographer 2022 Exam will be a multiple-choice computer-based exam.
  • The examinations will be conducted in both English and Hindi (except for the English Language section).
  • Each question is worth one mark, with 0.25 points being deducted for each incorrect response.

SSC Steno Qualification

  • The candidate must have passed the 10+2 (Class XII) level of schooling/HSC or its equivalent degree from a recognized University or Board.
  • The candidates who are declared qualified in the Computer Based Examination and the Skill Test will be required to produce all the relevant certificates in original such as Marksheets, Provisional Certificates etc. for completion of 12th standard or equivalent examination as proof of having acquired the minimum educational qualification.
