RRC Group D Eligibility

RRC lays down very generic eligibility criteria for RRB Group D posts. The RRB Group D eligibility criteria are stated below.

  • The candidates must be Indian citizens to apply for RRB Group D. A subject of Nepal, Bhutan, a refugee from Tibet, or a person of Indian origin who migrated from other countries to permanently reside in India is eligible to apply.
  • The educational qualifications that an RRB Group D applicant must possess are:
    1. Class 10th pass certificate, or
    2. ITI degree or diploma

Candidates in their final year of study or awaiting their results are not eligible to apply.

Age Limit

General category candidates within the age group of 18 to 33 years are eligible to apply for RRB Group D. Other category candidates such as OBC/ SC/ ST/ Ex-Servicemen/ PWD will get age relaxations as usual.

The crucial date for reckoning the age is July 1, 2019. The upper and lower limit of date of birth for different categories are as follows:

RRC Group D Vacancy

As per the official notification, there are 1,03,769 non-gazetted posts to be fulfilled in various units of Indian Railways through the RRB Group D exam 2022. Below table depicts the zone wise category wise vacancy distribution for RRB Group D 2022 exam.

RRC Group D Admit Card

The dates of release of RRB Group D admit cards 2022 have not been announced yet. It is expected to be releases on February19, 2022.

RRB Group D admit card can be downloaded from the RRB regional website. Candidates can check for exam city, exam date, exam shift, and exam time 10 days before the conduct of the exam.

RRB also sends Emails and SMS to candidates regarding the release of the RRB Group D 2022 admit card on their registered email id and phone number.

Steps to download the RRB Group D admit card/ hall ticket
  1. Visit the official websites of your selected RRB region.
  2. On the home page, click the link Download the e-call letter, city intimation slip and free traveling authority for SC/ST candidates”.
  3. Candidates will be redirected to the login page.
  4. Enter Registration Number and Password
  5. RRB Group D 2022 admit card appears on the screen
  6. Download the Railway Group D admit card PDF file and take a printout (colour preferably).

RRC Group D Salary

The RRB Group D employees salary structure is as follows:

Apart from these, there are deductions such as NPS, Professional Tax, CGIS, Income Tax, etc. The Net in-hand salary of RRB Group D employees after all deductions stands between Rs. 26,000 to Rs. 27,000 approximately.

The candidates selected for RRB Group D are assigned field work like maintenance of tracks, railway coaches, departments, stores, taking care of the locomotives, etc.

RRB Group D employees are eligible for promotion to Group-C after completion of 3 years of regular employment. Such promotions are based on departmental examinations.


RRC Group D Selection

RRB Group D selection process has 4 stages:

  1. CBT (Computer Based Test)
  2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
  3. Document Verification
  4. Medical Fitness Examination

The candidates who qualify for the CBT are called for PET. The number of candidates called for PET is 3 times total number of vacancies for the posts.

The RRB Group D PET is qualifying in nature and passing it is mandatory. The qualifying criteria for male and female candidates are different and are mentioned below.

Should be able to lift and carry 35 kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down; And, Should be able to run for a distance of 1000 metres in 4 minutes and 15 seconds in one chance. Should be able to lift and carry 20 kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down; And, Should be able to run for a distance of 1000 metres in 5 minutes and 40 seconds in one chance.

Based on the performance of candidates in CBT subject to their qualifying in PET, candidates, same the number of vacancies will be called for Document Verification (DV)/ Medical Fitness Test as per their merit and options.

Appointment of selected candidates is subject to their passing in the Medical Fitness Test to be conducted by the Railway Administration, final verification of educational and community certificates, and verification of antecedents/character of the candidates.


RRC Group D Syllabus

The RRB Group D syllabus is divided into the following 4 sections:

  1. General Science
  2. Mathematics
  3. General Intelligence and Reasoning, and
  4. General Awareness and Current Affairs

RRC Group D Exam Pattern

The first stage of the RRB Group D exam is a Computer Based Test (CBT). The questions are Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) type.

RRC Group D Cut off

The list of candidates shortlisted for RRB Group D PET will be based on the performance of candidates in the RRB Group D CBT exam. The candidates scoring marks equivalent to or more than the minimum RRB Group D cutoff score will be called for the further selection process.

RRB Group D cutoff 2022 will be released after the conduct of the RRB Group D exam. Aspirants can have a fair knowledge of the competition level based on RRB Group D previous years cutoff trends. Based on this, aspirants can ace their preparation so that they can score at least 10-15 marks above the previous year's cutoff score.

RRC Group D How to Apply

Candidates can apply for RRB Group D by filling the application form online. It is advised that candidates must read the official notification carefully before starting to fill up the application.

Registration Process

The step-by-step instructions for RRB Group online registration process are as follows:

  • Select the RRB which you wish to apply for and click on New Registration. The RRB once selected cannot be changed after the Registration Number is allotted.
  • Enter your name, Date of Birth and Fathers Name, Mothers Name, Aadhaar Number, Secondary (class 10th) Registration Number, Year of Passing, Mobile Number, and Email-Id and then submit.
  • After verification of mobile number and password through OTP; the Registration number will be displayed on screen.

Application Process
  • Login on the homepage using the registration number and password.
  • The application form has two parts. In Part I, candidates need to provide details of Educational Qualification, Community, Gender, Religion, Ex-SM, Minority, EWS, and other details as required.
  • In Part II, candidates have to mark his/her priority/preference of the posts.
  • Candidates are required to select the language of RRB Group D exam 2022. However English is the default language. Candidates will have to fill in other details like Mother Tongue, Identification Marks, Permanent Address, etc.
  • Candidates will have to fill in the details of a valid Photo ID card in the application which they will have to bring in as proof during CBT, PET, DV, Medical, or any subsequent stages of the exam.
  • Candidates who appear in CBT will be eligible for an application fee refund. Candidates will get a refund on the application fee in the same account through which they have made the payment. Those candidates who do not wish to receive the refund in the account through which payment is done or those who paid their application fee through challan; must provide the beneficiary account details in the online application form.
  • Candidates will be required to upload a scanned copy of their photograph and signature. The size of the photograph must range between 20 KB to 50 KB whereas the signature must range between 10 KB to 40 KB.
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST communities will have to upload scanned copies (50 KB to 100 KB) of their caste certificate to avail of a free Railway Travelling Pass during the RRB Group D exam.
  • After agreeing to the terms and conditions, candidates must submit the application form.
  • After submitting the form, candidates will be redirected to the payment page. RRB Group D application fee payment can either be made online via Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card/UPI or via Offline Challan.
  • Candidates are advised to download a PDF copy of submitted application form for future reference.
