Railway recruitment board (RRB) conducts RRB ALP & Technician exam to recruit for different railway zones across the country. This is a national-level exam and lakh of candidates appear for it. RRB ALP selection process comprises two stages (first stage CBT and second stage CBT) which is common for ALP and Technician. In addition, candidates who opt for ALP and qualify the CBT 2, are required to undergo Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT). The final stage comprises document verification and empanelling.
The Railway Recruitment Board is yet to release the RRB ALP important dates for 2023. Events included in the RRB ALP recruitment process will end within a specified schedule. RRB has specified particular age and educational criteria for RRB ALP & Technician exam. Before applying to the exam candidates must check the below eligibility criteria:
The minimum age limit is 18 years and the maximum is 28 years. Age relaxation is applicable as per government rules.

Assistant Loco Pilot: Matriculation / SSLC Plus ITI/ Course Completed Act Apprentices or Diploma/ Degree in Engineering
Technicians: Matriculation/ SSLC Plus ITI / Course Completed Act Apprentices or 10 + 2 with Physics and Maths or Diploma in Engineering (As Applicable)

The expected vacancies for RRB ALP/Technician 2022 are supposed to be 19000+ and especially 9500+ vacancies for technician posts. Candidates are advised to check the RRB's official website for the most up-to-date information on vacancies.

The admit card of the RRB ALP 2022 exam can be found on RRB's regional website. Candidates must download the admit card from the website, as it will not be mailed to them.
Here’s how you can download the admit card
Step 1: Go to the regional website of RRB.
Step 2: On its homepage, find the ‘Admit Card’ section and click on it.
Step 3: Fill in the username and password as asked.
Step 4: Download the admit card on display.
Step 5: Print out a hard copy for the exam and save a soft copy on your computer.
Candidates selected for the RRB ALP posts are paid a salary as per Level 2 of the 7th CPC pay matrix. The minimum and maximum basic pay under level 2 of the 7th CPC are as follows:

Candidates are required to achieve a certain percentage of marks before they can be advanced to the next stage. Since each question carries one mark, the division is even and the students crossing the cut off are easily forwarded to the next stage.
Clearing cutoffs does not mean qualification due to a large number of candidates. The scores given here are just from a preparation perspective.

The application form for the RRB ALP exam is to be filled online, as is the exam which will be conducted online through computer mode. All the important details are available online, where students can fill the form, submit the fee and register themselves for the paper.
Here’s how eligible candidates can fill the application form.
Step 1: Open your regional website of RRB and select the post for which you are going to apply.
Step 2: At the website, click on the notification of the RRB ALP 2022.
Step 3: Register yourself for the exam at RRB’s regional website.
Step 4: For registration, open the page and fill in your basic details, for example, your name, your parent’s name, contact information, mail-id etc.
Step 5: As you hit submit, you will receive an OTP. Kindly process it.
Step 6: After the OTP is validated, process the generated mail for login credentials.
Step 7: Log in with the credentials and provide the details asked by the application.
Step 8: Pay the required amount. Failure to pay the amount will lead to the rejection of your application.
Step 9: Download the copy of the application and take out a hard copy. Save it for further use.
Candidates who will be applying for the RRB ALP 2022 Exam must pay the fee either offline or online. One can make the online fee payment through internet banking or debit/credit cards while offline payment can be made through SBI or Post Office Challan.
