UGC NET Adult Education 2024 Exam

UGC NET Notification 2023 Out : UGC NET December 2023 notification was released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on 30 September 2023. Every year, the National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the UGC NET examination twice to determine eligibility for Assistant Professorship, Junior Research Fellowship or both for Indian universities and colleges.The online application process for UGC NET 2023 has started on 30th September 2023 and interested and eligible candidates can apply online before 28th October 2023 at 05:00 PM. NTA UGC NET exam is conducted twice every year in the month of June and December. However, there is a provision to conduct UGC NET exam twice a year. A session of UGC NET 2023 (December 2023) will be conducted by the National Eligibility Authority (NTA) for the recruitment of Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellow (JRF). You have to check the UGC NET Eligibility Criteria for Adult Education before filling the online Application Form. 

Make sure that you have met all essential criteria as mentioned in Educational Qualification & Age Limit.

• You have to complete Post-Graduation in Adult Education, Continuing Education, Andragogy, Non Formal Education or another equivalent subject.
• If you are belonging to General Category, then you have to secure 55% in Adult Education or equivalent subject, and for ST/SC/OBC/PWD/Transgenders, the percentage criteria are 50%.

• For UGC NET Adult Education JRF: 30 Years for General Category & Up to 5 Years of Age Relaxation in Other Categories.
• For UGC NET Adult Education Lectureship: No Upper Age Limit for NET Exam 2022 Adult Education Lectureship.

UGC NET Adult Education Syllabus gives an overview about the topics covered in the exam. You should know that the UGC NET Adult Education exam is divided into two parts, i.e., UGC NET Paper 1 & Paper 2. 

UGC NET Paper 1 syllabus is common for all candidates, but paper 2 is based on Adult Education.

• UGC NET Adult Education Paper I Syllabus covers teaching and reasoning ability, research aptitude, comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness. 
• UGC NET Adult Education Paper-II Syllabus is based on the Adult Education subject. It tests your knowledge and expertise on the respective subject.

The UGC NET Syllabus for Adult Education Paper 2 covers the following major topics,

UGC NET Exam is a computer-based test having multiple-choice questions. UGC NET exam is divided into two parts (i.e) Part I and Part II. 

You need to qualify in both papers to pass the UGC NET Adult Education exam.

• Paper I: It consists of 50 questions from UGC NET teaching & research aptitude exam (general paper), which you have to attempt in 1 hour.
• Paper II: The UGC Adult Education exam paper will have 100 questions and the total duration will be two hours. Each question carries 2 marks, so the exam will be worth 200 marks.

Till November 2017 UGC NET in Adult Education / Continuing Education / Andragogy / Non Formal Education consists of three papers i.e. paper-1, paper-2 and paper-3. 

• Paper-1 was of general and compulsory for all subjects.
• Paper-2 and paper-3 were based on Adult Education / Continuing Education / Andragogy / Non Formal Education. 

So, you have to go through previous paper-2 and paper-3 both to better prepare for the current paper-2 in Adult Education / Continuing Education / Andragogy / Non Formal Education.

UGC NET examination in Adult Education / Continuing Education / Andragogy / Non Formal Education was organised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) till June 2014. 

From December 2014 to June 2018 UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) examination was conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

After Dec. 2018 onwards, the UGC- NET is being conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

NTA releases the UGC NET Adult Education Cut Off marks after the results. You have to score the minimum cut-off marks to get selected in the merit list.

The merit list will be prepared category-wise and subject-wise for each subject. Only the top 6% qualified candidates will be considered for the Junior Research Fellowship program.
