KSET Eligibility

All the candidates must check the KSET Eligibility criteria 2022 before applying for the examination. KSET Eligibility details as per the latest notification are mentioned below. Please note the KSET age eligibility criteria and educational qualification.

Applicants who belong to any other state except Karnataka and in the reserved category (SC, ST & Other Backward Classes) shall be treated as General.
 

Age Limit

As per the KSET official notification pdf, there is no upper age limit to be eligible for KSET Exam 2022.
 

Educational Qualification

As per the KSET eligibility 2022, the candidates must have a master’s degree or the equivalent from a UGC recognised university or institution. The minimum marks required to be eligible varies as per the reserved category. The details are mentioned below.

  • Applicants who are pursuing their Master's Degree may also apply for the KSET 2022 Exam conditionally that they must submit the proof of passing the Master’s degree with minimum required marks within two years of the KSET Result.
  • Candidates may only take the KSET exam in the subject of their post-graduation. The list of the KSET Subjects is mentioned below.
  • If you hold a Ph. D. degree holders and Master’s level examination had been completed by 19th September 1992 (irrespective of the date of declaration of result), you shall be eligible for a 5% relaxation in aggregate marks (i.e. from 55% to 50%).

Also, note that candidates who became eligible in the previous KSET Exam are not eligible to apply again in the same subject.


KSET Admit Card

KSET Admit Card 2022 will be released 2-3 weeks before the examination dates. The KSET admit card shall contain all the relevant information about the exam such as personal details, roll no, exam test centre and the subject of your examination. The applicants are supposed to carry a photo identity card along with their admit card printout on the examination day. No one will be allowed to appear in the exam without the admit card.

KSET Salary

Assistant Professors selected for the state of Karnataka through KSET 2022 receive a monthly salary in the range of Rs. 25,000/- to 40,000/- in the beginning. KSET Selection

As per the KSET Selection Process, the number of applicants to be qualified Assistant Professors shall be 6% of the total candidates appeared in both the papers of KSET 2021. The selection procedure for KSET 2021 i.e. candidates to be selected as Assistant Professor is given below:
  • The total minimum Aggregate Marks (of both Paper I & Paper II) required is 40% for the General Category and 35% for the Reserved Category. (Reserved Category- SC / ST/ CAT-I / II A/ II B / III A / III B / PWD )
     
  • For the candidates who secure the minimum marks, a subject-wise and category-wise merit list will be prepared.
     
  • After the merit list, as per the reservation policy number of slots both subject-wise and category-wise will be declared.

KSET Exam Pattern

The KSET exam consists of two papers with objective-type multiple-choice questions. They will be held in two different sessions.

KSET Paper I - will consist of 50 objective-type questions each question carrying 2 marks. The questions in the paper will be general just to assess the teaching aptitude of the candidate. The primary aim of this paper is to check the reasoning ability, comprehension, and divergent thinking of the candidate.
 

KSET Paper-II consists of 100 objective-type questions carrying 2 marks each. This paper is based on the subject selected by the candidate.

KSET Cut off

KSET cutoff marks are released every year at the time of results on their official website. These are the minimum marks one should obtain to clear the exam. The Mysore University decision regarding the cutoff marks is final.

Depending on the number of candidates who appeared in the exam, their performance, and toughness of the exam marks vary year to year. By the previous year's cutoff marks, you can have some idea about the cutoff marks.

Evaluation Method -

Mysore University has certain criteria for the determination of cutoff marks of KSET

  • Minimum 40% marks for general candidates and 35% marks for other category students must obtain in both papers.
  • The number of candidates to be qualified for the post shall be equal to 6% of candidates who appeared in the exam.

KSET How to Apply

1) Visit the official website: http://kset.uni-mysore.ac.in/ to apply online.

2) You are required to sign up for registration using your valid email id and password.

3) After the registration, login using the same credentials and fill the detailed application form with personal, educational and KSET exam details.

4) Applicants are also required to mention their educational qualification and the PG course passed or appearing.

5) Keep the following documents ready for upload

  • Candidate’s Photograph: JPEG format, Size:10 kb to 100 kb
  • Candidate’s Signature: JPEG format, Size:5 kb to 30kb

6) For the payment, Select the payment category (Reservation Category) and verify the details and amount to be paid.

7) Payment can be made via State Bank MOPS (Multi Option Payment System) using Internet banking, Debit card, Credit card, State bank Buddy e-Wallet Payment and Cash.

8) Cash Payment can be done at all the SBI branches across India.
