CSIR NET stands for Council of Scientific and Industrial Research National Eligibility Test. The National Testing Agency (NTA) administers the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research National Eligibility Test (CSIR NET). The exam determines candidates' eligibility for Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) and Lectureships (LS)/Assistant Professor positions in Indian universities and colleges. Only candidates who pass the CSIR NET exam are eligible to work as lecturers in the faculty of Science and Technology.

CSIR NET Earth Science Exam Date

Admit Card 2022 Release Date September 13, 2022 CSIR NET Admit Card 2022 will be released a few days before the exam.
Exam Date  September 16 to 18, 2022 CSIR NET Exam is conducted for all 5 subjects.
Answer Key 2022 Date October 01, 2022  The NTA has released the CSIR NET provisional answer key 2022 is available. Candidates can challenge the provisional answer key on the official website of NTA.
Result Date To be notified After analyzing all the challenges to the provisional answer key, the CSIR UGC NET Results will be released.

CSIR NET Earth Science Eligibility

CSIR has created the eligibility requirements for the JRF and Assistant Professor/Lectureship. Candidates who intend to take the exam must be familiar with the CSIR NET Eligibility, required qualification, age limit, and the number of attempts.

Age Limit 2022

Candidates must be under the CSIR NET Age Limit. The Junior Research Fellowship's age limit is 28 years for general candidates and 31 years for OBC and ST/ST/PWD candidates. The CSIR has not set an age limit for assistant professors. See the table below for further information on the age limit:

Educational Qualification

To apply online for the CSIR NET 2022, candidates must have achieved the desired qualification. The table below lists the minimum percentage of marks required for each category.

The CSIR NET 2022 Admit Card for Lectureship and JRF was released on September 13, 2022. Follow the steps mentioned below to download the CSIR NET Admit Card.

CSIR NET Earth Science Selection

Aspirants must acquaint themselves with the latest CSIR NET selection process recently revised by the CSIR through notification. Knowledge of various stages helps candidates mentally prepare for the upcoming round of the CSIR NET exam, and this help in devising a better strategy for the exam. The following stages are involved in the selection process:

  • CSIR NET Application Form: The first and foremost step is to complete the CSIR NET June 2022 application form correctly before the last date.
  • CSIR NET Admit Card: NTA will release admit card 3-4 days before the exam on the official portal for all the candidates who have submitted the application form.
  • CSIR UGC NET Exam: Online exam held on the scheduled date and time. The CSIR NET exam is conducted twice a year, i.e., in June and December, but it will be conducted thrice this year.
  • CSIR NET Result: After evaluating the candidate's responses and challenges, the NTA releases the CSIR UGC NET result.
  • CSIR NET e-certification: NTA released the CSIR NET certificates for all the candidates who had qualified for the JRF and Lectureships.
