NIMHANS 2024 Exam

NIMHANS Entrance Exam 2022 is scheduled to be held in May 2022 for Ph.D., Super Speciality, Postdoctoral and Postgraduate and in July 2022 for B.Sc Courses. National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences is the conducting body. Each year, the authority organizes this entrance exam at the national level for offering admission to the courses like PhD, Post Doctoral, Superspeciality, Post Graduate, PG Diploma Courses; DCNT / CCNT / DPN / DNN and B.Sc. The eligibility criteria of NIMHANS 2022 for different courses are as follows

For Medical Courses

• Candidates must have completed MBBS from a recognized university or equivalent as stated by NIMHANS and by The Medical Council of India.

Candidates should have completed a compulsory internship of one year after

MBBS or equivalent on or before the date of commencement of the course.

• Candidates must have completed MS / MD/ DPM / DNB from a recognized university or equivalent as stated by NIMHANS and by The Medical Council of India.

For Non-Medical Courses

• Candidates must have completed MA / M.Sc / MSW / BE / BAMS / B.Tech / B.Sc should have passed the requisite exam from a University recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) or Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) with not less than 55% marks in aggregate on or before the date of interview/admission.

Age Limit

• For Session 1 the age is calculated as on 1st July 2022
• For Session 2 the age is calculated as on 1st January 2022.
• For MBBS degree holders the age limit is 32 years.
• Age should not be more than 37 years for PG Medical degree holders.
• Candidates applying for M.Sc in Biostatistics have an age limit of 30 years.
• For candidates applying for B.Sc courses, the age limit is between 17 and 25 years.

Eligible candidates will be informed to download the e-hall ticket, which should be produced at the time of the Online Entrance Exam. Admission to the Institute is based on the performance of the candidate in the Online Entrance Exam followed by an Interview. Candidates need to obtain a minimum of 50% each in the Entrance Exam and Interview in order to be eligible for admission. Selection will be purely based on Merit.

NIMHANS entrance exam is conducted twice a year.

The first session is held in the month of March and the second session in October.

The syllabus and exam pattern of NIMHANS Entrance Exam 2022 is as follows.

• Common Entrance Test will be conducted for all four B.Sc. courses for 100 marks.
• Number of Questions : The papers will have 100 questions.
• Duration : The duration of the test for each course will be 90 minutes.
• Type of questions : The questions in the question paper will be as follows - multiple choice objective type questions.

The application form of NIMHANS Entrance Exam 2022 is released by NIMHANS.

• Application should be submitted through the Online mode (only) along with all the attachments, signature and photograph through the link available in website along-with this Prospectus.
• All claims made in the application must be supported with documentary proof in original along with a set of photocopies at the time of admission.
• A candidate can apply for a maximum of 3 (three) courses only (provided they are eligible). Applicants are not permitted to submit multiple online applications.
• Any reasons for delay in submission of application / or applications received after the last date will not be considered under any circumstances.
