About INET Exam

Indian Navy is expected to release INET 2022 notification in November 2022 for the courses commencing at Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala. he notification will be released to select eligible male and female candidates for short service commission/permanent service commission officers in executive, technical, and education branches. Interested candidates can apply for INET 2022 exam till December 2022. The exam will be conducted in February 2023 tentatively across various designated centres. Approximately, 8000 candidates are selected for SSB interview based on INET scores. The SSB interview will be conducted tentatively in April 2023 at Bangalore / Bhopal/ Visakhapatnam/Kolkata. The final merit list of all candidates will be prepared based on INET scores and SSB interview. In 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, INET exam for June 2021 session was cancelled. Selection of candidates was done based on shortlisting, SSB Interview, and medical.

INET Eligibility

Before applying for the INET 2022 test, applicants must thoroughly understand the examination’s INET Eligibility Criteria. The first step in exam preparation is to understand the qualifying requirements. Following are the criteria:

  1. Nationality: All applying candidates must be Indian nationals.

INET Admit Card

It is highly advised that you should download the admit card within a few days after it is released on the official website. This will save you from last minute hustle and chaos. Candidates will not be allowed in the exam hall without the hard copy of admit card. The following paragraph explains the step by step procedure to download the admit card of INET 2022 :

  1. Visit the official website
  2. Click on the Admit Card link on the homepage of the website
  3. Login using the registered email ID and password
  4. The Admit Card will be displayed on the screen
  5. Download the admit card and take a print out to be carried to the exam venue

After downloading the admit card, candidates are advised to check for any discrepancy in the admit card and report the same, if any.

INET Selection

Indian Navy selection procedure is based on 3 major steps :

  • The candidates have to acquire the minimum cut off marks in the INET exam so that they qualify for the SSB Interview. The candidate has to score a minimum of 40% in each section of INET exam

  • The final merit is prepared on the basis of marks in INET examination and SSB Interview

INET Exam Pattern

  • The recruitment process consists of three steps : Written INET exam, SSB Interview and Medical Examination
  • The INET examination paper is divided into 4 sections
  • There are a total of 100 questions in the paper
  • Only the candidates who clear the INET exam will be eligible for SSB interview
  • The paper will be of multiple choice questions
  • There will be negative marking for wrong answers
  • Each correct answer awards 4 marks while for each incorrect answer, 1 marks will be deducted
  • The candidate has to score a minimum of 40% in each section

Written Exam Pattern

An online screening test consists of a single paper divided into 4 sections ; each carrying 25 questions and 100 marks. The examination will most likely be conducted in the month February 2022.

The cut off trends are different for different posts and hence must be checked accordingly. Studying the past year cut off helps in estimating the tentative cut off for the present year and preparing accordingly.


INET How to Apply

Candidates who have not applied for INET 2022 and wish to apply but are confused about the application procedure to be followed, can follow the below mentioned while applying :

  • Go to the Indian Navy’s official website (https://www.joinindiannavy.gov.in/)
  • Candidates visiting the website for the first time have to register themselves by clicking on the ‘Register’ button
  • They have to register using any Govt/State issued Photo ID or using Aadhar Card
  • Next, enter the required details such as academic details, address, personal details, email ID and phone number.
  • Upload the scanned copies of relevant documents and set a password
  • Using the registered email ID and password set, login using the ‘Login’ tab on the homepage
  • Apply for the exam by clicking on ‘Apply Now’
  • All the details and information of the candidate will be collected from the profile built during registration and can’t be edited
  • Pay the application fee through online modes of payment
  • Take a print out of the application form and confirmation page

Application Fees 
  • The payment can be done using Debit Cards (Rupay/Visa/Master Card/Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking or through mobile wallets
  • Payment of application fees can be done through online mode
  • After successful completion of the transaction, an e-receipt will be generated
  • Take a print out as per necessity
