The exam tests the basic knowledge of each subject at the level of the 12th standard. The syllabus mainly includes the chapters of NCERT of 11th and 12th standard in physics, chemistry and mathematics.
Indian Navy SSR AA Science Syllabus-The weightage of the topics which are asked mostly in the exam covers all the three subjects- Physics, Chemistry and basic science.

Students can easily cover the whole syllabus by preferring NCERT books of Physics, Chemistry of 11th and 12th standard and newspaper for current affairs and general knowledge. and English grammar section demands a lot of questions practice from different books.
Around 10000 applicants have been called for the written exam and Physical Fitness Test (PFT) exam. The shortlisting will be undertaken based on the percentage of (10+2 exam) for the written exam and of the applicants. The cut-off marks usually vary from state. Also, the vacancies are assigned state-wise (different state to state).
Indian Navy SSR Written TestNote: There is negative marking or Penalty for Wrong Answer. Applicants must be careful while answering as one-fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to that question will be cut for each wrong answer.
For Sailor (AA): Candidate must have completed 10+2 exam with 60% or more marks in total with Maths and Physics or at least one of these subjects (Chemistry/ Biology/ Computer Science) from the Boards of School Education that is recognized by MHRD, Government of India.
