Indian Navy Eligibility

The eligibility requirements for all the levels are different. Candidates must check the eligibility criteria in the respective official notifications. Some of the major requirements are mentioned here:

Indian Navy AA and SSR

  • 12th Pass with 60% Marks in Physics, Chemistry, & Maths.
  • Born between 1st August 2002 to 31st July 2005.

Indian Navy 10+2 B.Tech

  • 12th Pass with 70% Marks in Physics, Chemistry, & Maths.
  • JEE Main 2021
  • Born between 2nd January 2003 to 1st July 2007.

Indian Navy SSC Executive

  • BE / B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science /CSE/ IT/Software System/Cyber Security/System Admn and Networking/Computer Systems and Networking/Date Analytics/Artificial Intelligence or
  • MCA with BCA/B.Sc in CS/IT with Minimum 60% Marks in Any Recognized University India.
  • 60 % marks in English in 10th and 12th class
  • Born between 02/07/1997 to 01/01/2003

Indian Navy SSC Officer

  • BE / B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science /CSE/ IT/Software System/Cyber Security/System Admn and Networking/Computer Systems and Networking/Date Analytics/Artificial Intelligence or
  • MCA with BCA/B.Sc in CS/IT with Minimum 60% Marks in Any Recognized University India.
  • 60 % marks in English in 10th and 12th class

Moreover, the Indian Navy also provides the facility to check the eligibility. Candidates need to fill in some details, and if he/she is eligible, the list of exams will appear. Here is the detailed process for checking the eligibility:

  • Now, select your date of birth, gender, and highest qualification. In case some more fields appear based on your highest qualification, fill them.
  • Once you have provided all the details, click on the ‘Check my Eligibility Now’ button.

The exams for which you are eligible will appear on the screen.


Indian Navy Admit Card

he admit card will be published on the Indian navy’s official website after the Indian Navy SSR and AA (2022) exam date is declared. The admit card is published 15 days prior to the exam onwww.joinindiannavy.com.

Indian Navy Exam Pattern

  • Computer-Based/ written test Exam
  • (PFT) Physical Fitness Test
  • Medical Standards Test

Around 10000 applicants have been called for the written exam and Physical Fitness Test (PFT) exam. The shortlisting will be undertaken based on the percentage of (10+2 exam) for the written exam and of the applicants. The cut-off marks usually vary from state. Also, the vacancies are assigned state-wise (different state to state).

Indian Navy SSR Written Test
  • The Written Test consists of objective-type questions and will be bilingual (Hindi & English).
  • The test consists of four sections (English, General Knowledge, Mathematics, and Science) of 10+2 level.
  • The Physical Fitness Test (PFT) will be conducted on the same day as the written exam
  • The written exam is conducted for an hour.

Indian Navy SSR Computer-Based Exam
  • A common exam (computer-based) will be conducted for Indian Navy SSR and AA Recruitment (2022).
  • A total of 100 questions of objective type will be asked. Each question would carry one mark.
  • The question paper will be bilingual same as written (Hindi & English) and will cover four sections i.e. English, Science, Mathematics, and General Knowledge.
  • The level of the paper will be of 10+2 standard.
  • The written exam is conducted for an hour.

Note: There is negative marking or Penalty for Wrong Answer. Applicants must be careful while answering as one-fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to that question will be cut for each wrong answer. 


Indian Navy Qualification

  • For Sailor (AA): Candidate must have completed 10+2 exam with 60% or more marks in total with Maths and Physics or at least one of these subjects (Chemistry/ Biology/ Computer Science) from the Boards of School Education that is recognized by MHRD, Government of India.

  • For Sailor (SSR): Candidate must have completed 10+2 exam with Maths and Physics or at least one of these subjects (Chemistry/Biology/Computer Science) from the Boards of School Education that is recognized by MHRD, Government of India.
