About SEBI grade A Exam

SEBI Grade A Recruitment 2023 : Securities and Exchange Board of India is a regulatory organisation for the Indian securities market whose head office is located in Mumbai. SEBI aims to protect the interests of investors in securities and to promote & regulate the development of the securities market. SEBI recruitment notification has been published for SEBI Grade A (Assistant Manager) in various streams inviting eligible graduates & post-graduates to be a part of their team. Interested candidates are invited to submit their applications from 22nd June 2023 and online registration is going to last till 09th July 2023.

SEBI grade A Eligibility

It is very important to check one’s eligibility criteria before applying for any Examination. Here, the candidates can check their eligibility criteria before applying for any post of the SEBI Grade A Assistant Manager.

Candidates having Indian nationality can apply. Only a Maharashtra domicile can apply for SEBI Grade A Assistant Manager for General Stream.
 

Educational Qualifications

There are six streams for SEBI Grade A Assistant Manager. The educational qualifications for each stream are different. The stream-wise educational qualification is provided here.

Stream Educational Qualification
General Master’s Degree in any discipline, Bachelors’ Degree in Law, Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering from a recognized university, CA / CFA /CS /Cost Accountant.
Legal Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized Institute /University.
Information Technology Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical /Electronics /Electronics And Communication /Information Technology/Computer Science) OR Masters in Computers Application OR Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a postgraduate qualification (minimum 2 years duration) in Computers/Information Technology.
Engineering Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/ Electrical Engineering from a recognized Institute/University.
Research Master’s Degree in Business Administration (Finance) / Commerce / Econometrics /Economics /Statistics from a recognized University/ Institute.
Official Language Master’s Degree in Hindi with English as one of the subjects at Bachelor’s Degree level or Master’s Degree in Commerce/ Economics / English /Sanskrit with Hindi as a subject at Bachelor’s Degree level from a recognized Institute/University.

Eligibility: Age Limit

The candidate must fulfill the age criteria as per the releasing date of the official notification. Age criteria are as follows:

  • The maximum age limit is 30 years, i.e. the candidate should not be born on or before 01st March 1991.
  • Age relaxation is provided for the reserved categories as per the government norms. See the table below:-

SEBI grade A Salary

One of the main attractions for various candidates to apply for the SEBI Grade A exam is the salary structure. The basic Officers Grade ‘A’ (Assistant Manager) salary is  28150-1550(4)-34350-1750(7)-46600-EB-1750(4)-53600-2000(1)-55600 (17 years). Other allowances such as House Allowance, House Cleaning Allowance, Medical Expense, Book Grant, Leave Fare Concession, Financial Dailies, Education Expenses, Briefcase, Conveyance Expenses, Staff Furnishing Scheme, Scheme for Purchasing Computers, Subsidized Lunch Facility, etc., will be as admissible as per the rules for Grade A officer in SEBI.


SEBI grade A Selection

The selection process of SEBI Assistant Manager Grade A consists of 3 phases:

  • Phase I: Preliminary Examination (Online Objective Test)
  • Phase II: Main Examination (Online Objective & Descriptive Test)
  • Phase III: Interview

SEBI grade A Syllabus

SEBI Grade A 2023 Phase 1 Syllabus -Screening Test Syllabus

The first stage of the SEBI Grade A Recruitment exam was the Online Screening Test. It had 200 questions for a total of 200 marks. This test is divided into two sections. Section 1 had questions from General Awareness, Reasoning, Aptitude, English Language. Section 2 had questions from various streams namely: General, Legal, IT, Civil Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Research, and Official Language. The time allotted for this examination was 100 minutes in the 2022 year cycle. The details of the various topics asked are given below:

SEBI Grade A Exam 2023 Phase 2 Syllabus - Online Examination Syllabus

The second phase of the SEBI Grade A was the Online Examination. This examination had a total of 200 marks. The examination was  divided into two papers- PAPER 1 and PAPER 2. Paper 1 was a descriptive type of paper in English. Paper-II had questions from concerned subjects like General, Legal, IT, Civil Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Research, and Official Language in the 2022 year cycle. The details of the topics are given below:

The Online Examination paper consists of two parts:

Paper 1: English Descriptive
  1. The paper on English is framed in a manner that will assess the writing skills of the candidates including expression and understanding of the topic. It includes precis writing/essay writing/comprehension in the 2022 year cycle. 

Paper 2: SEBI Grade A Concerned Subject Syllabus

The Paper II consists of 5 major streams like Legal, Information Technology, General, Research and Official Language. The syllabus for Legal and Information Technology streams was different for both the phases. However, the syllabus for General, Research and Official Language streams was similar for both the phasesin the 2022 year cycle.As notification of 2023 has not been released yet and we can expect the similar details as for 2023. SEBI grade A Exam Pattern

The two phases of SEBI Grade A each had tested on two Papers. Paper 1 and Paper 2. The Online Screening Test consists of 200 questions, 100 questions from the paper 1 and 100 questions in paper 2. On the other hand in the second phase, the Online examination consists of questions from English Descriptive in Paper 1, and questions from Subject Concerned. It had 100 questions. Every question carries 1 mark in the 2022 year cycle.As notification of 2023 has not been released yet and we can expect the similar details as for 2023.The entire pattern and marking scheme is discussed further. 

SEBI Grade A Phase 1 Exam Pattern - Screening Test

For the Online Screening Test, the test had an Objective form. There are a total of 200 questions: 100 questions from General Awareness, Aptitude, Reasoning, English language and another 100 questions from the Subject concerned. The maximum marks for the is 200. SEBI Grade A Phase 2 Exam Pattern - Online Examination

For the second phase of the Online exam, there had two papers on which the candidates had tested. The first paper was descriptive in nature and was of 100 marks. SEBI grade A How to Apply

The eligible candidates can apply for the respective stream of SEBI Grade A Assistant Manager 2022 Examination through online mode. Candidates need not submit the hard copy of the completely-filled Online application to SEBI’s office.

The following are the steps to be followed for applying to various streams of SEBI Grade A Assistant Manager:-

Step 1: Visit the official website of SEBI and open the “careers” tab

Step 2: Open the Recruitment Notification and click on the option "APPLY ONLINE” which will navigate to another window.

Step 3: Click on new registration and complete the registration process.
