About RBI Grade B Exam

Reserve Bank of India RBI has released the Recruitment of Officers Grade B Various Post Recruitment 2023 Notification. Any candidate who is interested in this RBI Officers Grade B 2023 recruitment and fulfills the eligibility can apply online from 09 May 2023 to 09 June 2023. RBI Grade B Eligibility

RBI notifies the eligibility in the RBI Grade B notification every year. Candidates are required to fulfil the eligibility conditions as stated by the RBI. The basic eligibility criteria in regards to the age limit and the educational qualification as given in the RBI Grade B Notification are discussed below:

Eligibility - Age Limit:

As per the RBI Grade B Notification, the applications are invited from candidates between the age group of 21 and 30 years of age group as of January 01, 2022. However, candidates holding M.Phil. and PhD degrees are given age relaxations. The upper age limit for such candidates is 32 and 34 years respectively. Furthermore, the candidates from the reserved category are eligible for relaxation in the upper age limit as per the Government of India norm.

RBI Grade B Admit Card

The candidates can download their respective RBI Grade B admit cards by the following steps:

  • Visit the official website www.rbi.org.in
  • After landing on the page click on the link saying download admit card
  • After clicking on it one should enter all the required details.
  • Now, click on the submit button.
  • Then, for further use take a printout of the admit card.

RBI Grade B Salary

The Pay Scale for the RBI Grade B Officer is Rs. 55,200-2850(9)-80850-EB-2850(2)-86550-3300(4)-99750(16 years). This means that you will be having basic pay of Rs. 55,200/- in which you will get an increment of Rs. 2850/- up till nine years of your service. After the completion of nine years, you will get into the executive band wherein the basic pay will be Rs. 80850/- and then again for the next two years you will get an increment of Rs. 2850/- and further an increment of Rs. 3300/- for the following 4 years thus ending up with the basic pay of Rs. 99,750/- and this is when you don't get any promotion. Apart from the Basic Pay, multiple emoluments such as Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Family Allowance, Telephone Allowance, Conveyance Allowance etc. will also be provided.


RBI Grade B Selection

The RBI Grade-B selection process is done in three phases. Phase-I, Phase-II, and Interview round. Candidates must qualify in phase- I in order to appear for the Phase-II exam. On clearing Phase -II examination, they will be called for the interview round.

The final selection of candidates is done based on the overall performance in the exams as well as in the interview round.

RBI Grade B Exam Pattern

The applicants must have a clear idea about the exam pattern of the RBI Grade-B post, before applying for it. The Exam Pattern of RBI Grade B 2022 is divided into three phases, Phase-I, Phase-II, and Interview Round. The exam pattern for the two phases is given below.
 

Phase-I Exam Pattern:

RBI Phase-I of this examination consists of four sections. There is no sectional time limit. The total duration of the RBI Grade B Phase- I is of 120 minutes. The marks for each section are given below.

RBI Grade B Cut off

The cut off for RBI Grade B 2022 Exam will be released after each phase of the examination is completed. The cut-off for the Phase-I exam will be released first followed by the cut off for the Phase-II exam. Candidates can evaluate their marks and their chances of selection by matching their score with the cut off list released by RBI.

RBI Grade B Qualification

Basic Educational Qualification:

As per the RBI Grade B Notification, you require 60% marks in Graduation (50% for reserved categories i.e SC/ST/PwBD) or an equivalent grade in Bachelor s degree along with 10th and 12th standard examinations from any recognized university/board.
 

Post-Wise Qualifications

RBI Grade B Notification notifies about the post-wise qualifications under eligibility criteria. The required qualification for officers in Grade B (General, DEPR and DSIM) are tabulated below:

Officers in Grade ‘B (DR) - (General)

At least 60% marks in Graduation (50% for reserved categories i.e SC/ST/PwBD) or an equivalent grade in Bachelor s degree along with 10th and 12th standard examinations from any recognized university/board.

Officers in Grade ‘B (DR) - (DEPR)

A Master s Degree in Econometrics/ Economics / Quantitative Economics/ Integrated Economics Course/ Mathematical Economics /Finance, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University /Institute; OR

PGDM/ MBA Finance with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University /Institute; OR

Master s Degree in Economics in any of the subcategories of economics i.e. agricultural/ developmental/ business/ applied, etc., with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University /Institute.

Officers in Grade ‘B (DR) - (DSIM)

A Master s Degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Mathematical Economics/ Econometrics/ Statistics Informatics from IIT-Kharagpur/ Applied Statistics Informatics from IIT-Bombay with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years; OR

Master s Degree in Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years and a one-year post-graduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from an Institute of repute; OR

M. Stat. Degree of Indian Statistical Institute with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate of all semesters/years; OR

Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) jointly offered by ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur, and IIM Calcutta with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years.

Once RBI releases the RBI Grade B notification as well as the application form on their official website, you will be able to fill it online. The RBI Officer Grade B online application will be accepted via online mode at the official website of RBI.

  • Go to the official website of RBI rbi.org.in.
  • Click on the opportunities section, given at the bottom of the page.
  • A new tab will open, click on the current vacancies section.
  • Click on the RBI Officer Grade B Recruitment 2022 link.
  • Now, click on the Application Form link.
  • A new tab asking for your registration will open.
  • Click on the link for New Registration.
  • Fill out the form with correct details as per your official documents.
  • Click save and upload a scanned photograph signature image.
  • Cross-check all your details and click on the submit button.
  • At last, pay the application fee as per your category.
  • The application fee is required to pay online through debit/credit card, mobile wallets or net banking.
  • Do not forget to take an e-print of the receipt for future use.

Application Fees

A total of Rs. 850/- is the application fee to be paid by candidates belonging to the General and OBC category for RBI Grade B 2023 exam. The same amount is reduced to Rs. 100/- for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD category.
