IBPS Specialist Officer Eligibility

To apply for the post of IBPS SO, candidates need to fulfil the eligibility criteria which are discussed below:
 

Age Limit

The minimum age to apply for IBPS SO is 20 years and the maximum age is 30 years. There are certain relaxations to the same which will be duly mentioned, wherein the maximum age is increased for candidates belonging to the reserved categories.
 

Relaxation in Age Limit:
  • The relaxation for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe is of 5 years.
  • The relaxation for candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes (Non-creamy Layer) is of 3 years.
  • The relaxation for persons with a benchmark disability is 10 years.
  • The relaxation for candidates who are ex-servicemen is 5 years.
  • The relaxations for candidates ordinarily domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir between the dates 01/01/80 and 31/12/89 is of 5 years.
  • The relaxation for candidates affected by the 1984 riots is of 5 years.

IBPS Specialist Officer Vacancy

IBPS has introduced 710 Specialist Officers (SO) vacancies for IBPS SO 2022-23 exam along with its notification on 31st October 2022. As this is the recruitment for Specialist Officer, therefore the vacancies released are not as high as other banking exams and as compared to last year's vacancies. This year, the maximum number of vacancies are announced for IBPS SFO (Agriculture Field Officer) i.e. 516. The steps to download the IBPS SO Admit Card are:

  • Go to the official website of IBPS i.e., https://www.ibps.in/
  • Candidates need to log in using Registration Number and Password.
  • Candidates will see a link on their profile i.e., "Download Admit Card" and click on the link.
  • The admit card of the IBPS SO admit card will appear on the screen.
  • Go through all the details and take a printout of the admit card of IBPS SO.

The following are some of the benefits that may be accrued by an IBPS SO:

  • Annual compensation packages range from INR 7.55 lakhs to INR 12.93 lakhs.
  • A newspaper allowance.
  • A conveyance allowance, dependent on the availability of an Officer’s vehicle, wherein the officer may receive a fixed amount of fuel and other vehicle maintenance funds.
  • Leave Travel Concession (LTC).
  • Constant Training and Development, which becomes necessary due to the intellectually demanding nature of the job, in order to stay up to date with the evolving standards of the industry’s nuanced technologies.
  • Leave Policies inclusive of casual and privileged leaves, as well as maternity leaves of up to 6 months. Single parents who have elderly relatives are allowed up to 2 years of sabbatical leave as well.

IBPS Specialist Officer Selection

Candidates will be selected on the basis of two qualifying examinations. In order to appear for the Main Exam, candidates will be required to clear the Preliminary Exam. Only applicants who clear the Main Exam are notified about needing to appear for the Interview.

  • Step 2: Applicants have to log in using a Unique Registration ID and a password will be generated.
  • Step 3: The candidates will then be required to upload digitally scanned versions of their photographs, signature, left-hand thumb impression, and a handwritten declaration.
  • Step 4: Download and take a printout of the application form and the payment receipt for future use.

Application Fee
A candidate is required to pay Rs. 850/- (General and OBC) as his/her application fee for IBPS SO 2022 exam. The same amount is narrowed down to Rs. 175/- for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD category. The Online Application will start once the notification has been released by IBPS.
