About IBPS PO Exam

IBPS PO 2023 Exam Date Out: IBPS PO 2023 Exam will be conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) to select eligible candidates for the post of Probationary Officers in different public sector banks in India. IBPS PO exam is conducted every year since 2011 and is now happening in 2023 in its 13th edition. The IBPS CRP PO/MT CRP-XIII 2023 is for the selection of candidates for the 11 public sector banks. IBPS PO 2023 Prelims will be conducted on 23rd, 30th September, 01st October 2023 and IBPS PO Mains 2023 will be conducted on 05th November 2023. The complete details for IBPS PO 2023 Exam will be mentioned in IBPS PO Notification 2023 which will be released by IBPS in August 2023. 


IBPS PO Exam Date

The online registration dates has been released along with IBPS PO Notification 2023 on 31st July 2023. As per the IBPS Calendar 2023, the IBPS PO Prelims & Mains Exam Dates have been updated below. IBPS PO 2023 Prelims will be conducted on the 23rd and 30th of September 2023. The important dates for IBPS PO /MT CRP XIII 2023 will be updated in the below table.

IBPS PO Eligibility

Nationality / Citizenship of Applicants

A candidate applying for IBPS CRP/Bank PO Examination must be one of the following:

1. Citizen of India

2. Subject of Nepal or Bhutan

3. Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement

4. Person of Indian Origin (PIO) who has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam or East African countries of Zaire,Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, Malawi, with the intention of permanent settlement in India

Candidates belonging to the category 2, 3, 4 must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Govt of India in their favour.
 

Age Limit (As on 01.08.2022)

Any candidate who is applying for the IBPS PO examination should not be less than 20 years old and not more than 30 years old at the time of registration. In addition to this, there is an age relaxation application to category-wise candidates as per the government rules:

The IBPS PO Vacancies for IBPS PO 2023 have been announced along with the official IBPS PO notification pdf. The IBPS has announced 3049 vacancies of Probationary Officer posts for 11 participating banks which has been tabulated here. IBPS PO Vacancy 2023 has been released category-wise for all banks. This year the maximum number of vacancies have been released for the Central Bank of India i.e. 2000.

IBPS PO Admit Card

IBPS PO 2022 Admit Card will be released separately for the Prelims, Mains, Interview and pre-exam training. The admit card for prelims is expected to be released in September 2022. The IBPS PO 2022 Admit Card for Mains is expected to be released in November 2022 and the admit card for the interview in February 2023.

In order to download the admit cards for all the levels, the candidates are required to visit the official website of IBPS. IBPS PO Selection

The candidates will be appointed on the basis of their performance in the three stages of the IBPS PO Exam 2022. There are three stages of the IBPS PO Exam.

  1. Prelims Exam
  2. Mains Exam
  3. Interview

In order to get selected in the IBPS PO, the candidates will have to score a section cut-off as well as an overall cut-off . The selection process of the IBPS PO exam requires the qualification of each stage in order to get finally selected into the IBPS PO exam 2022. The prelims round of the IBPS PO exam is qualifying while the mains exam of IBPS PO requires the minimum cut-off marks to appear for the interview round.


IBPS PO Syllabus

IBPS PO Exam Pattern

IBPS introduced separate sectional timing for each section in the preliminary exam. The IBPS PO exam (CRP XI) for hiring candidates will be based on an online written exam in two parts: Tier 1 or IBPS Preliminary Exam and Tier 2 or IBPS Mains Exam. This examination is followed by a face-to-face interview process.

Prelims Exam Pattern

The IBPS PO preliminary examination has a total duration of 1 hour and 20 minutes for each section, which will be conducted in online mode. It consists of 3 sections with a total of 100 questions and a maximum score of 100 marks. There is a negative marking in the IBPS PO pre-exam and 0.25 marks are deducted for each wrong answer. Candidates must clear the cut-off in all 3 sections to qualify for the IBPS PO Main exam. The section-wise details are given below:

Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing minimum cut-off marks to be decided by IBPS. Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by IBPS depending upon requirements will be shortlisted for Online Main Examination.

Mains Exam Pattern

The IBPO PO Main exam is also conducted online, it has 5(4+1) sections with a total score of 200+25 marks and total duration of 180+30 minutes. IBPS will be conducting a descriptive paper in its mains exam for selection of candidates to the post of Probationary Officer. The sections must be attempted in the same order and the allotted time as mandated at the time of the exam. A candidate has to clear both preliminary and mains examinations to be eligible for the interview process.

Penalty for Wrong Answers: There is a penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests of both Preliminary and Mains exams. A wrong answer to an objective question by the candidate will lead to a penalty of one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question. For example, 0.25 marks will be deducted as a penalty for a wrong answer to a question that carries 1 mark. There will be no penalty for leaving a question blank, i.e. if no answer is marked by the candidate.


IBPS PO Cut off

Cut Off is the minimum marks that are required by any candidate to score in order to be shortlisted to appear for the Interview and thereafter for the final recruitment.

  • Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum cut-off score in each test of the IBPS Main examination online and also a minimum total score to be considered to be shortlisted for an interview.
  • Depending on the number of vacancies available, IBPS PO cut-offs will be decided and candidates will be shortlisted for IBPS interviews.
  • The final appointment will be made on the basis of the marks secured in the IBPS PO Mains Exam and the scores obtained in the Interview.
  • Prior to the completion of the IBPS interview process, scores obtained in the online Main examination will not be shared with the candidates shortlisted for the interview.

IBPS PO Qualification

Graduation Degree: The eligibility criteria for the IBPS CRP exam is as basic as a graduation degree (BA, BCom, BSc, B.Tech or as such) in any discipline from a University recognized by the Government of India. Any such candidate who has received equivalent qualification which is recognized by the Central Government is also eligible to apply for this exam.

The candidates must be in possession of a valid Mark-sheet / Degree Certificate that certifies that they are a graduate on the day they register for this exam, and must indicate the percentage of marks obtained in Graduation while registering for the IBPS Bank-PO examination.
 

Computer Literacy: Working knowledge of computer systems is necessary for the job as well as to give the IBPS PO exam which is conducted in online mode.
 

Language Proficiency: Verbal and written proficiency in the official language of the State/UT is desirable. The candidate must be able to read, write and speak the language.


IBPS PO How to Apply

The official link to apply for the IBPS PO 2022 has been activated on August 02, 2022 after the release of the official notification. All the details regarding the application process and the deadline for the same will be given on the official website of IBPS. Given below are the steps to apply for the IBPS PO 2022 examination. The registration followed by the IBPS PO application process will be initiated online.

  1. Visit the official website of IBPS at www.ibps.in.
  2. Click on the tab saying IBPS PO Recruitment 2022 notification, the IBPS PO Recruitment 2022 Application Form will open.
  3. Fill in all the required details accurately as per your certificates and documents and also double-check the same before submitting.
  4. Upload scanned photograph and signature.
  5. Post submitting the application form, click on the link to the new registration after clicking on the link of the recruitment.
  6. Your registration number and password will be generated.
  7. After registration and filling out the application form, submit the application fee pertaining to your category through the online fee payment procedure.
  8. Print the application form for future purposes.

Application Fee

Students belonging to different categories are required to pay different amounts of application fees.
