ASRB ARS Recruitment 2023: The Agricultural Scientist Recruitment Board (ASRB) has released the ASRB ARS Recruitment 2023 on its official website @asrb.org.in. The ASRB ARS Recruitment 2023 Notification has been released for the recruitment of Scientists in 260 posts under the Agricultural Research Service (ARS) of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).
Interested candidates must note that the application process for the ASRB ARS Recruitment 2023 will begin from 5th July 2023 to 26th July 2023. The candidates can find all the details and important links related to ASRB ARS Recruitment 2023 in the article.

Educational Qualification 2022 (Expected)

The posts available under ARS Exam require candidates to have excellent knowledge and understanding of their subjects. Therefore, it is vital for these candidates to fulfill certain educational qualifications. These include:

  • Candidates must have a Master’s Degree in the concerned discipline or specialization.
  • The degree must be from an institution that has been recognized by the Government of India.
  • If the candidate previously studied in a foreign university, the degree must be equivalent or above the level of a master’s degree in India.

Eligibility Criteria 2022 - Nationality

The ARS eligibility criteria with regards to nationality that candidates must fulfill for the recruitment are:

  • Must be a citizen of India, Nepal, or Bhutan.
  • Tibetan refugees who came over to India before the 1st January 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India are also eligible to apply.
  • People of Indian origin who have migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India can apply.

Eligibility Criteria - Number of Attempts

The number of attempts for the ARS exam 2022 will be 6. For OBC and PWBD candidates, the number of attempts shall be 9. There shall be no such restrictions on SC/ST candidates.


ASRB ARS Admit Card

The admit card for ARS Exam will soon been released on the ASRB website. To download the ARS Hall Ticket, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Visit the official ASRB website. 

Step 2: Check for the link for the ARS exam 2022.

Step 3: Click on the “Admission Certificate for ARS--2022 Examination”.

Step 4: Candidates must enter the details of their registration number and date of birth on the login page.

Step 5: The Admit Card will appear on the screen.

Step 6: Ensure that all the details on the admit card are correct.

Step 7: Download the Admit Card and print it to be used in the future.

If any discrepancies are found regarding the candidate’s personal information, they must immediately contact the board to rectify the mistake before the date of the examination. Candidates must carry a copy of the admit card/admission certificate along with a valid photo ID to the examination center, otherwise, they will not be allowed to enter the exam hall.

ASRB ARS Exam Pattern

As mentioned earlier, the ARS Exam comprises three different stages for the selection which the candidate must qualify in order to be eligible for selection. The three different stages include Preliminary Examination, Mains Examination, and the Viva-voce. The examination pattern for the different stages of the selection process is detailed below:

Prelims Exam Pattern
  • This examination is for 150 marks. 
  • The duration of the examination is 02 hours.
  • The examination consists of Objective Type MCQs.
  • The questions are framed in English as well as in Hindi. 
  • It is an online computer-based examination. 
  • For every correct answer, the candidate will get 01 mark and ⅓ mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

The main aim of conducting the preliminary examination is to further select the eligible candidate for the main examination.

Mains Exam Pattern
  • The candidates who qualify the Prelims, further appear for the Mains examination. 
  • The examination will be of 240 marks.
  • The duration of the examination is 03 hours.
  • The examination will be divided into three parts i.e., Part A, Part B, and Part C. 
  • The Part A will consist of short type questions and the answers should also be short.
  • The Part B will be the ones where the answer should be one to two paras. 
  • The Part C will be essay type questions for which the answer should have two or more parts.

Viva Voce Exam Pattern

The candidates who clear the mains examination and score the required cut-off are called to appear for the Viva Voce. The candidates who appear for the Viva-voce are chosen on the basis of the results of the ARS Mains Exam. 

  • The Viva-voce is conducted by a group of experts in the fields. It is worth 60 marks.
  • The main aim of the viva voce is to assess the candidate’s suitability for the service.
  • It is a very natural and directed purposeful conversation. 
  • The candidates are tested on various factors which include their curiosity, social skills, practical knowledge, critical thinking, decision making, and other factors which will make them eligible for the further process.
