Surendra Institute of Engineering and Management is run by Bidya Bharati Foundation. It is a charitable society dedicated to the cause of spreading quality education in North Bengal and owned by the “Agarwals” of Patna. Late Surendra Agarwal, a self made businessman and popularly known as the “Iron King of Patna”, was also a visionary who cherished the dream of bringing quality education to the city of Siliguri. SIEM is the second venture of this charitable society, the first being Delhi Public School, Siliguri that was started under the dynamic leadership and guidance of Late Surendra Agarwal six years ago in the year 2003. Within six years, this school has transformed into a full fledged educational institute of repute with a students’ strength of 3500.Following his footprints, members of his family who were committed to the task of fulfilling the noble mission already started, planned to make significant contribution in the field of technical education in North Bengal by establishing an engineering and management institute of its kind.
