The Rural Welfare Trust was founded in the year 1992, by MJF Lion Dr. T.R. Subramaniam, Chairman, with the sole purpose of promoting technical education in the backward areas of Tamil Nadu particularly Arakkonam. The trust originally started the Sri Krishhna Industrial Training Centre. In the year 1995 the Sri Krishna Polytechnical College was begun.Sri Krishna Matriculation Higher Secondary School was started in the year 2002, to cater to children in the age group 3 to18 years from Pre-KG till the XII standard. Shri Krishna College of Engineering is affiliated to U.P. Technical University, Lucknow and with the approval of All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE),New Delhi.Sri Krishna Teacher Training Institute & the Sri Krishna College of Education has also been started in the same campus in the year 2006. Sri Krishna College of Engineering has been issued a Letter of Intent by the AICTE to start the Engineering College from the academic year 2009-2010
