| Hostel | The hostel accommodation comprises of American style apartments which are well furnished, hygienic and have ultra modern amenities. There are 450 rooms and each room of the hostel is having box type beds, big almirah, mattresses and bed sheets for each student. Rooms are available on 2 Seater, 3-Seater basis. The hostel premises has a common TV room and state of the art indoor and outdoor sports facilities. The hostel premises comprises of a separate dining facility in the boys and girls hostels. The menu of the mess is decided by the student's mess committees. The food served is of high quality and meets the acceptable quality standards of as laid down under FSSAI and other government food safety regulations. Special consideration is given to provide a well-balanced, nutritional diet with varying food tastes. Each hostel has a residential faculty warden, assistant warden, and attendants who are being monitored by a chief warden of RCE to promptly address the day to day issues of the hostel residents. To ensure security and safety of the hostel inmates 24X7 security guards are on duty and CCTV cameras have been installed for active surveillance. Normal, Semideluxe and Super Deluxe Room are available. Water Cooler and Fresh & Hygenic food is available. | Cafeteria | The Roorkee College of Engineering has spacious, air-conditioned cafeteria which provides nutritious and hygienic snacks and beverage at nominal charges to students, faculty and visitors alike. The Cafeteria in the College is the hub of each of student activities. The Cafeteria serves a variety of delicious and healthy dishes both for vegetarians as well as non-vegetarians, at a minimal cost. The menu is regularly modified as per seasonal cycles and desired choices. Students can easily get various types of eateries from local food to various fast foods. All the canteens, cafeterias, and various food points have strict instructions from the college management to serve the food for the students at a very reasonable price. Student can have your normal veg. lunch and dinner at INR 25/- only (rice/ roti, dal, sabji, papad, chatni). | Library | The central library of RCE is stocked with thousands of books written by prominent authors on the various subject. To encourage research activities and advanced reading, libraries have memberships of many e-journals and databases. This gives access to articles, books, and reference material online. The intake of books is a regular feature in the library and no important title related to the courses of study is missed. In addition to the course books general books for personality development, general knowledge handbooks, yearbooks, reference books etc. are also added to the collections. There is a reference section in the library which covers most of the important titles. The library subscribes to national and international subject journals, magazines of current interest along with national and regional dailies to keep the students abreast with the day to day happenings in the world and their fields of study. The library is tastefully furnished and it can seat approximately 150 students at a time in its spacious reading halls. The serene atmosphere in the library with rows of neatly stacked books plays a major role in attracting the students to the library for study and supplementing their class notes. Digital library has over 3000 e-books available round the clock through a FTP server on the intranet, whereby students can access the material and books anytime from anywhere on the campus. The Institute has an altogether a separate reference library which is spread on an area of more than 400 square metre with varied books on basic sciences, engineering and technology, humanities, social sciences. |
