National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra or NIT Kurukshetra (prior Regional Engineering College, Kurukshetra) is a publicly unique college fully subsidized by Government of India. In December 2008 it had been authorized with the status of Institution of National Importance. National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra or NIT Kurukshetra is one of the twenty National Institutes of Technology established and controlled by Government of India. The National Institute of Technology offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Engineering and Doctor of Philosophy progamme in Engineering, Sciences and Humanities. The Institute intends to instruct its learners on the evaluation of life other than preparing them to attain brilliance in the field of scholastics. Research exercises, escalated study and imaginative systems for instructing are a part of the preparation process in this foundation. The Institute likewise strives to give different types of Engineering courses and projects at the undergrad, post graduate and doctorate levels. | Hostel | There are a total of six hostels for the boys. The boy's hostels have a capacity of 250 each are for B.Tech. Students and 150 seaters post graduate hostel accommodates M.Tech. Students and research scholars. Three of the hostels are for undergraduate students that have triple seater rooms whereas the remaining two are single seaters. NIT, Kurukshetra has a total number of 12 hostel, 9 for boys (three boys hostels are triple bedded and the rest are single bedded. All the rooms in Post-graduate hostel are single bedded) and 3 for girls (namely Alaknanda Bhawan, Bhagirathi Bhawan and Cauvery Bhawan have the total capacity of 610 seats for B.
