The Moodlakatte Institute of Technology is founded by a charitable institution Moodlakatte Nagarathna Bhujanga Shetty Trust situated in Moodlakatte, about 200 meters from Kundapur railway station. It is established in the year 2004, headed by Shri I.M.Jayaram Shetty basically an Engineering graduate and also the chairman of the trust. He is a well known Philanthropist, Ex- member of Legislative Assembly and Ex-member of Parliament. His aim is to bring up Moodlakatte Institute of Technology as a model Engineering institution with a disciplined student community.
