New Jaibharat Educational Trust has been established in the year 2010 with a vision to create, educational facilities in general and technical institutions in particular, to the socially educationally and economically under privileged youth from rural areas in and around Ariyalur. A new chapter has been added to the history of Ariyalur with the establishment of Ariyalur Engineering College (AEC) in the academic year 2013-14. The college is situated in Mellakaruppur village, 11 km from Ariyalur abutting the National Highway (NH-227) leading to Chidambaram, in a sprawling area of more than 20 acres, approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. This college has offering 5 (Five) Under-Graduate courses namely Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Computer Science Engineering.
