The below information is very important for the students who are willing to take the JEE Main exam in the year 2023. The candidates not only need to fulfill the qualifying exam criteria but also need to take care of the age limits if there are any for the institutes they have target in mind. Please read below instructions before filling the forms of JEE Main 2023.
Age:
The most important thing about appearing in JEE Main 2022 is that there is no age limit for the candidates and thus everyone eligible can take this exam. The only condition is that candidates who have passed the examinations of class 12 in the year 2021 or 2022, or are appearing in 2023 are eligible irrespective of their age. But the candidates might need to fulfill the age criteria for the institute they want to take admission in.
Qualifying Exams:
The candidates would need to fulfill the following criteria when it comes to qualifying exams for the JEE Main:
- The final exam of Class 12th conducted by any of the recognized central or state board or ICSE etc.
- Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination conducted by a recognized Board/University.
- Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defense Academy.
- Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects.
- Any Public School/ Board/ University examination in India or any foreign country recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
Higher Secondary Certificate Vocational Examination.
- A Diploma recognized by AICTE or a State board of technical education of at least 3 years duration.
- General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
- High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
- Candidates who have completed the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination outside India or from a Board not specified above should produce a certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) to the effect that the examination they have passed is equivalent to the Class 12 Examination.
- In case the Class 12 Examination is not a public examination, the candidate must have passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) examination earlier.
Year of Appearance in Qualifying Examination.
- Only those candidates who have passed the Class 12/equivalent examination in 2020, 2021, or those who are appearing in Class 12/equivalent examination in 2023, are eligible to appear in JEE (Main) – 2023.
- Candidates who passed the Class 12/equivalent examination in 2019 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2023 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) – 2022.
